How many times in the last month have you gone off, word vomit just pouring out of your mouth as if it had a mission to accomplish. Well it does whether you hold it in or let it out anger takes a toll on your health. Here are some of the ways you can make yourself sick and how you can start to cool down safely. Anger can hamper your memory, high levels of cortisol and stress hormones are released when you are angry which can shrink the brain's memory center.
Harboring hostility can release adrenaline, a stress hormone that spikes blood pressure. Persistently high blood pressure can lead to stroke and heart disease. Ocular migraines can be sparked by anger, the wiggly lines and light flashes caused by stress hormones that constricted blood vessels in the brain. Grinding can cause facial and jaw pain, over time even broken teeth, so be fore you repress remember this can fuel bruxism, unconscious teeth gnashing that occurs during the day or while you sleep at night.
Stomach pain and diarrhea can be the fall out from the brain releasing the neurotransmitter acetylcholine and serotonin which can reduce blood flow to the belly when we get angry. When fighting mad we go into the fight or flight mode and our body pumps the hormone epinephrine and high levels may depress the immune system making us more prone to viruses and infections.
The key here is anger management using these strategies you can chill out when your blood starts to boil: Breathe deeply, yoga style. Repeat a calming word such as slow or picture a peaceful place that you have experienced peace the beach, mountains the or a sun rise. Also plan to workout, take a walk go to the gym, Take some kind of a break daily. Remember when we take time to cool down the first one to benefit is us not to mention the people around us.
Be well balanced.....for that enemy of yours, the devil, roams around like a lion roaring.....seeking someone to seize upon and devour. 1 Peter 5:8
